Bill Miano was leading Mike Taggart on Tuesday night in a race for Position 3 on the Clallam County Fire District 3 board.
The Carlsborg-based district, which also includes a portion of East Jefferson County, had Miano record 51.5 percent (3,512 votes) to Taggart’s 48 percent (3,271 votes).
Several other Clallam County fire districts had unopposed candidates. They included:
William Henderson, who earned 99.3 percent (441 votes) for Position 1 in Fire District 1.
John Buonpane, who had 98.4 percent (422 votes) for Position 4 in Fire District 1.
Steve Hopf, who had 98.4 percent (1,196 votes) for Position 3 in Fire District 2.
Sam Nugent, who had 98.8 percent (248 votes) for Position 3 in Fire District 4.
Lynne Kastner, who had 98.8 percent (249 votes) for Position 5 in Fire District 4.
Glen Nicholas III, who had 88.2 percent (60 votes) for Position 3 in Fire District 5.
Chip Keen, who had 97.7 percent (43 votes) for Position 2 in Fire District 6.
In Jefferson County, David Seabrook was leading David Codier for District 2 in East Jefferson Fire District 1. Seabrook had 74.2 percent (4,927 votes) to Codier’s 25.3 percent (1,680 votes).
In the same fire district, Jeannie Price, who is running unopposed, had 99.3 percent (5,497 votes) for the District 1 seat.
For the Quilcene Fire District, Art Frank was leading Ken McEdwards 72.6 percent (363 votes) to 27 percent (135 votes).
The Brinnon Fire District had two candidates running unopposed. They were Dan Ventura, who had 98.7 percent (228 votes) for Position 1 and Justin Matheson, who had 94.9 percent (206 votes) for Position 3.
The Discovery Bay Fire District had Barb Knoepfle run unopposed. She had 91.9 percent (79 votes) for Position 3.
Sheriff
Andy Pernsteiner was elected Jefferson County Sheriff as he ran unopposed for the position. Pernsteiner had 98.2 percent (7,110 votes).
