PORT TOWNSEND – Jefferson County methamphetamine users have had a difficult time finding their drug of choice in recent weeks, law enforcers think. Undersheriff Tim Perry said last month’s arrest of a 34-year-old Quilcene woman is the reason why.
“We’ve gotten input that since Mary Hos got taken off, it’s really tough to get meth,” Perry said.
Hos, also known as Mary Ellen Headles, was originally charged Dec. 26 in Jefferson County Superior Court, but the charges were amended Dec. 29.
They now amount to one count of creating, possessing or delivering a counterfeit controlled substance – methamphetamine – as an accomplice; one count of creating, delivering or possessing a counterfeit controlled substance in the presence of a person younger than 18, and one count of possessing a controlled substance other than marijuana.
Hos, who pleaded not guilty to the charges Jan. 5, is free after posting $10,000 bail.
She is due back in court Friday for an omnibus hearing, court records show.
