BRINNON — A Sequim man hurt in a tractor-trailer collision earlier this week near Brinnon was listed in satisfactory condition Wednesday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Dennis D. Dailey, 65, was driving a 1994 Kenworth tractor and 50-foot 2017 Western trailer southbound on U.S. Highway 101 at about 5:25 a.m. Monday when the vehicle left the road to the right and crashed into the ditch, according to the State Patrol.
The vehicle rolled onto its side and spilled garbage at milepost 311 near Canal View Street, 1 mile south of Brinnon.
Dailey was airlifted to Harborview with serious injuries.
The wreck blocked the southbound lane for much of the day. State troopers alternated traffic at times to alleviate backups while garbage was cleared and the vehicle was lifted out of the ditch.
The state Department of Transportation said the scene was cleared nearly 14 hours later at 7:05 p.m.
The cause and any possible charges in the wreck remain under investigation, according to the State Patrol report.
The State Patrol does not suspect drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. Dailey was wearing a seat belt.
The Brinnon Fire Department responded and helped with debris cleanup and traffic control.
