JOYCE — Crescent Water Association members were advised to boil their drinking water Tuesday after a positive E. coli sample was collected from the association’s water system Monday.
Additional water samples were collected Tuesday, Clallam County Environmental Health Director Tania Busch-Weak said. Test results will be known by this afternoon.
As a precaution, people are advised to boil drinking water for more than three minutes at “rolling boil.”
Anyone experiencing diarrhea, cramps or nausea should consult their personal physician, Busch-Weak said.
The source of the E. coli bacteria has not been has not been determined, Busch-Weak said.
However, a chlorinator malfunctioned during the weekend, resulting in water with little or no chlorine in the system, she said.
