“STRIKE WHILE THE iron is hot!” and “Go West, young man” are two old sayings that do not apply to this column, but here’s one that does: “The time has come; the time is now.”
It’s time to shed the winter doldrums and embrace spring, so kick up your heels, boogie to the beat, tap your feet and ride the wave of a re-energized day.

■ On Friday at Oasis Bar and Grill, 301 E. Washington St., the Discovery Bay Pirates perform Celtic and sea shanty tunes from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Saturday, Gerald Braude picks guitar from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Wednesday, Final Approach lands at 5:30 p.m. with some boomer music until 8:30 p.m.
■ It’s “All the Buzz” Wednesday at the Sequim Senior Activity Center, 921 E. Hammond St., with Victor hosting the open mic from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
■ On Friday, Al Harris performs at Stymie’s Bar & Grill at Cedars at Dungeness, 1965 Woodcock Road, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
