PORT TOWNSEND — Quietly and without public protest, Jefferson County commissioners on Monday adopted a $40.9 million all-funds budget for 2005.
The budget includes $12.3 million in general fund expenditures.
Commissioners heard no public comments Dec. 6 during a budget hearing at the county courthouse.
Administrator John Fischbach last week told the commissioners they would be passing a balanced budget.
A 1 percent increase in the county ad valorem levies for property taxes and roads was then adopted. That following a hearing on the proposed ad valorem tax increases.
The commissioners also adopted a 1 percent county road levy increase, bringing annual revenues for that fund to $2.7 million.
