Although Halloween spooks and treats dominate the weekend, other activities — from tours and hikes to fundraisers — are offered on the North Olympic Peninsula this weekend.
Totem pole tour
SEQUIM — A tour of the totem poles of the Jamestown S’Klallam tribe is planned today.
The tour will begin at 2 p.m. at the tribal center, 1033 Old Blyn Highway, Blyn.
Visitors will learn about the historical figures and legends of the totem poles. Included in the tour is a visit to the House of Myths where the totem poles are created.
Visitors may see carving in action and can learn about tools and techniques that transform a cedar log into a work of art.
Cost is $20 per person.

Kids’ art class
PORT ANGELES — Children can learn about scrapbooking at a drop-in class at the Clallam County Family YMCA Art School today.
The class, “Scrapbook and Papercrafts,” will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the YMCA Art School at 723 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
It is open to children from 8 to 14 years old. The cost is $8 or $5 for YMCA members.

Two films
PORT ANGELES — Two movies will be shown during the Global Lens Film Series at Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., tonight.
“Sleepwalking Land” will be shown at 6 p.m. “What a Wonderful World” will be shown at 8 p.m.

Line dancing
SEQUIM — Beginning line dancing lessons are offered at the Sequim Elks Lodge this morning.
The lessons, which cost $3 per person, are from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Dancers meet at the lodge at 143 Port Williams Road, Sequim.
Harvest dinner
Sequim — The Trinity United Methodist Church will host the 118th annual Harvest Dinner tonight.
The dinner at the church at 100 S. Blake Ave., Sequim, will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with music provided by members of the Washington Old Time Fiddlers.
Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under.

Hospital fundraiser
SEQUIM — Crafts, a cakewalk and games are planned at a VFW fundraiser Saturday.
The fundraiser sponsored by Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 4760 will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the VFW lodge at 169 E. Washington, Sequim.
Proceeds will go toward heart pillows for heart patients of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Vancouver, Washington.
Music will provided by the Bob McGraw band from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

SEQUIM — The Clallam County Master Gardeners will host a free plant clinic Saturday.
The clinic will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Co-Op Farm & Garden/True Value, 216 E. Washington St., Sequim.

Weekend hikes
The Olympic Outdoor Club plans two hikes this weekend.
Saturday’s hike will be up the Staircase Rapids Trail, while Sunday’s hike will be along the North Fork Skokomish River Trail.
Both days, hikers from the Quimper Peninsula will meet at 8 a.m. at the Quimper Credit Union, 11524 Rhody Dr., in Port Hadlock, while hikers from Port Angeles and Sequim will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 101 in Discovery Bay.

PEO fundraiser
SEQUIM — A book signing, bazaar and bake sale will raise funds for PEO on Saturday.
Five chapters of PEO — two from Port Angeles and three from Sequim — are participating in the fundraiser set from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Pioneer Park, 387 E. Washington St., Sequim.
Glynda Schaad, a fifth-generation native of the Olympic Peninsula, will sign copies of her book, Women to Reckon with: Untamed Women of the Olympic Wilderness.
Bazaar items will include new and used books, stuffed animals, handmade jewelry and note cards, cookbooks, tiles, cutting boards and knives, homemade baked goods.
Proceeds will support PEO projects. PEO’s mission is to raise funds to support educational opportunities for women.

PORT ANGELES — A car wash will raise money for Port Angeles High School band students Saturday.
The car wash will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Angeles Pawn, 619 E. First St.
