Injury collision ties up traffic at intersection

PORT TOWNSEND — A 69-year-old man was transported to Jefferson Healthcare hospital with a reported fractured wrist Friday after a two-car collision.

Douglas Bremicker of Port Townsend was driving a Ford F150 southbound on Discovery Road when a Subaru Legacy traveling northbound on Jacob Miller Road from state Highway 20 pulled out in front of him, according to Jefferson County Sheriff Office Undersheriff Andy Pernsteiner.

Bremicker collided with the vehicle, hitting the driver-side door, he said.

A call requesting an update on his condition was not returned Saturday.

The driver of the Subaru, 64-year-old Kym Aughtry, also of Port Townsend, reportedly had stopped at the stop sign before crossing onto Jacob Miller Road.

Aughtry did not sustain any injuries, Pernsteiner said.

The collision tied up traffic at the intersection of Jacob Miller Road and Discovery Road for about 40 minutes. The collision was cleared at about 1:30 p.m.
