PORT ANGELES — The 16-deck Ovation of the Seas cruise ship, which anchored in Port Angeles Harbor on Monday, is expected to remain in the harbor until this coming Sunday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The ship had been anchored at Bainbridge Island before it requested another anchorage, said Petty Officer Steve Strohmaier, public affairs specialist.
No passengers are aboard, he said. It is carrying only crew members. He did not know how many.
The ship, which is owned by Royal Caribbean, may move in the harbor or in the Strait of Juan de Fuca on Friday, Strohmaier said, but that had not been confirmed as of Tuesday.
The ship, which can carry up to 4,905 passengers and some 1,300 crew members, homeports in Seattle and Sydney, Australia, according to the Royal Caribbean website, and generally cruises Alaska and Australia.
