PORT ANGELES – A man charged with burglarizing a Taco Time restaurant Christmas weekend was booked into the Clallam County jail early Wednesday morning for investigation of robbing a hotel clerk of $370 at gunpoint on Christmas Eve.
Vicount Bram Angel Guzman, 30, of Port Angeles, was arrested for investigation of first-degree robbery and second-degree theft.
Port Angeles police detectives had pieced together a case against him based on a recovered ski mask, a black pellet gun and interviews with Guzman’s family members, according to court documents.
Guzman, who had his first Clallam County court appearance on Wednesday, is scheduled to appear in Superior Court again Friday for formal charging.
“These are some serious allegations here,” Guzman said during his hearing.
He said he’d been looking for a job and living with members of his church.
“I’ve been doing what I’m supposed to be doing,” he said while asking Clallam County Superior Judge George Wood to let him go without bail.
Wood agreed the allegations were serious.
“I’m going to have to set some pretty serious bail,” Wood said.
He set bail at $100,000.
