PORT ANGELES — Angeles Composite Technologies, Inc., has been acquired by Greensboro, N.C.-based Honda Aircraft Company.
Kazuaki Osawa, Honda Aircraft’s assistant vice president of corporate planning said in an emailed statement on Friday that ACTI “will be integrated into a newly established wholly owned subsidiary, Port Angeles Composite LLC, to enhance the reliability of Honda Aircraft Company’s product supply chain and to establish a more flexible and sustainable production network.”
ACTI was a longtime supplier to Honda Aircraft, a subsidiary of Honda Motor Co.
Port of Port Angeles commissioners on Thursday unanimously approved the transfer of two leases from ACTI to Port Angeles Composite. The leases run through 2030 and have monthly rents of $29,931.11 and $12,499.75.
The leased properties are located at the port’s composites manufacturing campus on 18th Street.
ACTI was founded by President and CEO Michael Rauch in 1996. It manufactures and supplies composite assemblies and components to the commercial and military aerospace markets.
The Peninsula Daily News reported in 2015 that aerospace company Shimtech Industries (since renamed Avantus Aerospace) had purchased a majority interest in ACTI.
