FALLS CHURCH, Va. — The International Association of Emergency Managers awarded a Certified Emergency Manager credential to Hollie Kaufman of Port Angeles at a July meeting.
Kaufman, who has the consulting company Coastal Emergency Management Solutions, has also worked as the director of emergency management for the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and as the emergency management coordinator for the Puget Sound Veterans Administration’s community based clinics.
Certified Emergency Managers must have three years of emergency management experience, a bachelors degree in emergency management, up to 100 hours of emergency management training, submit an essay and pass a written examination.
According to a press release, less than 3,000 people have earned this certification since its inception in 1993.
