FORKS — The City Council will hold a second public hearing on its proposed Quillayute Airport land-use plan Monday after airport neighbors turned out en masse to oppose the measure during a public hearing at City Hall.
All but one of the speakers blasted the council for its airport growth plan, calling it a taking of private property.
The land-use plan will set development restrictions and govern construction of hangars and parking areas at the airport on Quillayute Prairie Road, midway between Forks and LaPush.
Airport-area residents blasted the council and the plan, which they contend will lead to noise, potential pollution and the loss of enjoyment of their property.
