PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department will begin removing the floating docks from City Pier on Sept. 19.
This work is performed each year after Labor Day to prevent storm damage caused by seasonal changes in wind and storm patterns.
The floats will be stored and returned to the City Pier for Memorial Day Weekend in 2026.
Floating docks will be temporarily removed from the Ediz Hook Boat Launch in mid-October, after the last day of the fishing season on Oct. 15. This decision follows damage sustained by the floats in previous years and will help the city protect its remaining infrastructure.
