QUILCENE — Five people were taken to three separate hospitals following a collision that involved three vehicles at Center Road and state Highway 104, the State Patrol said.
Lacey K. Carter, 33, of Port Hadlock was driving a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek southbound on Center Loop Road at Highway 104 about 2:20 p.m. Sunday when she made a left turn onto eastbound Highway 104.
A second vehicle, a 2016 Kia Soul driven by Chad T. Fletcher, 37, of Federal Way was traveling westbound on Highway 104 and collided with Carter’s Subaru, the State Patrol said.
Carter failed to yield at the intersection, the State Patrol said.
Carter was transported in a private vehicle to Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend while Fletcher was transported to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale, the State Patrol said.
A 16-year-old passenger in the Kia was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was in satisfactory condition on Tuesday, hospital spokesperson Brian Donohue said.
Two other passengers in the Kia, Amber L. Ortiz, 36, of Lakewood and a 10-year-old girl were taken to Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend, the State Patrol said.
The third vehicle, a 2015 Mercedes driven by Jayden L. Skipper, 19, of Lakewood struck debris from the Subaru, the State Patrol said. Neither Skipper nor a 12-year-old boy were injured, the State Patrol said.
All people involved were wearing seat belts, and neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected, the State Patrol said.
The Subaru blocked both eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 104 while the other two vehicles came to rest on the westbound shoulder, the State Patrol said.
Both the Subaru and the Kia were totally destroyed. The Mercedes sustained reportable damage and was driven from the scene, the State Patrol said.
