PORT ANGELES — Clallam County Fire District 2 will consider approval of a declaration of emergency for repair of Station 22 during a special meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be at 1212 E. First St., Port Angeles.
A door on a fire truck was left open when the truck was backed out of the station at 700 Power Plant Road on Monday, said Chief Sam Phillips on Tuesday.
Both the door and the building were damaged, he said.
The building was damaged to the extent that the bay doors no longer close, he added.
The damage to the truck is under $10,0000 and the repair doesn’t have to go to bid.
The damage to the building is expected to cost between $20,000 and $30,0000, so commissioners will consider a declaration of emergency and waiver of the competitive bidding process to take care of the emergency repair.
