EYE ON THE PENINSULA: Parcel charges and fire safety topics of county meetings this week

Meetings across the North Olympic Peninsula.

This week, Clallam County will consider Conservation District parcel rates, while Jefferson County talks fire safety.

Clallam County Commissioners

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider a resolution approving a system of rates and charges on parcels within the Clallam Conservation District during their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The commissioners will also discuss collective bargaining in executive session during a special meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

• A discussion regarding a recommendation from the Clallam County Charter Review Commission to retain a water resources specialist within the Department of Community Development.

• An collective bargaining agreement with the Clallam County Deputy Sheriffs Guild regarding patrol deputies.

• An agreement with ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems for $52,950 to install a single point entry for the county courthouse.

• An amended agreement with the state Department of Health for $2,204,266 to provide public health services.

• A contract, and request to waive Bid/RFP requirements, with Reassurance Solutions, LLC, to continue to provide XK300 medical sensors for the juvenile detention facility.

• An agreement with the state Department of Children, Youth and Families for evidence-based expansion-coordinated services.

• An agreement with Guardian RFID for web-based software for Re-Entry Program at the juvenile detention facility.

• An agreement with the state Department of Commerce for up to $527,276 to operate a secure crisis residential center for 12- to 17-year olds experiencing homelessness.

• An agreement with the state Department of Commerce for up to $315,000 to provide ancillary therapeutic services at the secure crisis residential center.

• Approval of $20,000 in opiate settlement funds to compile a comprehensive analysis of local overdose trends, available prevention and treatment resources and their alignment with state-approved opioid settlement uses.

• A resolution to adopt the proposed 2024 update to the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.

• Resolutions appointing Jennifer Hutto to the Housing Solutions Committee and Abigail Barnett to Behavioral Health Advisory Board.

• Amended contracts with Tegria Services Group US, Inc., an assignee of Providence Health and Services, for the Epic electronic medical database for incarcerated individuals.

• Agreement with North Olympic Healthcare Network for community services for previously incarcerated persons upon release from custody.

• A contract and a request to waive bid/RFP requirements with Olympic Peninsula Community Clinic for the Mental Health Response Grant.

• An agreement with the state’s Administrative Office of the Courts for support of the Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian ad Litem Volunteers Program.

• An agreement with state’s Administrative Office of the Courts for Becca Program.

• An agreement with the state Department of Children, Youth and Families for detention-based services.

• An agreement with Pierce, Jones and Associates to provide adult development disability services from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027.

• An agreement with Morningside to provide adult development disability services from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027.

• An agreement with Concerned Citizens to provide adult development disability services from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027.

• Agreements with Sequim and Quillayute Valley school districts to provide Transition Program Services for eligible students who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities from Sept. 1, 2025, to Aug. 31, 2026.

• An amended agreement with Recreation and Conservation Office for to purchase a permanent easement for a portion of the Olympic Discovery Trail between Forks and La Push instead of a right-of-way.

• Opening of proposals for developmental disabilities for Health and Human Services.

• A public hearing regarding a resolution to authorize the use of Title III Funds under the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self Determination Act.

• A commissioner forum for 45 minutes.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council will host an open house with the city’s planning commission at 5 p.m. Monday.

The open house will be at the Port Townsend Senior and Community Center, 620 Tyler St., Port Townsend.

The workshop-style open house will focus on improving transportation connectivity within the city.

No action will be taken during the open house.

Sequim city

The Sequim City Council will conduct a public hearing regarding the emergency moratorium on master-planned overlay applications when they meet at 6 p.m. Monday.

The council will conduct a work session with U.S. Representative Emily Randall during a special meeting at 5 p.m.

The hybrid meetings will be in the civic center, 152 W. Cedar St., Sequim.
