EYE ON THE PENINSULA: Commissioners to hear potential parcel fee charge

Meetings across the North Olympic Peninsula

A proposed parcel fee, a utility base rate voluntary shutoff ordinance and an outfall loan request will be before boards and commissions on the North Olympic Peninsula next week.

Clallam County Commissioners

The three Clallam County commissioners will conduct a public hearing regarding a proposed parcel charge to fund programs at the Clallam Conservation District during their weekly business meeting on Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Tuesday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• An agreement with the state Department of Ecology for $70,041 to reimburse the Sheriff’s Office for staffing, fuel, dump fees and supplies used by the jail’s CREW program.

• An agreement with the state Military Department and State 911 for $67,666 to operate PenCom Dispatch.

• An agreement with the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs for $1,624,669 to provide field response services for people with mental health issues.

• A pre-application questionnaire with the state Department of Ecology for a $350,000 Puget Sound Nutrient Reduction Grant.

• A memorandum of understanding among the North Olympic Peninsula Recompete Coalition for various Recompete projects.

• A resolution appointing Kami Rosser as deputy clerk of the board of county commissioners.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 4 regarding the proposed 2025-2030 six-year transportation improvement program.

• An agreement with Peninsula Dispute Resolution Center for no more than $15,600 to provide “We’re in this Together” seminars for low-risk youth offenders and their parents or guardians.

• A preliminary presentation of the proposed 2026 county budget.
