The Port Townsend City Council plans public hearings related to affordable housing when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
One ordinance relates to low-income housing and the other would amend regulations that include a daylight plan, accessory dwelling units and the maximum number of dwelling units allowed in a single structure.
Under new business, council members will hear a resolution to authorize a sales and use tax in accordance with Substitute House Bill 1406.
Rather than a new tax, it would allocate 0.073 percent of the existing 6.5 percent state sales tax to affordable housing. It would not increase taxes.
Prior to the public hearings and new business, the city will hear special presentations on Jefferson County’s five-year homeless housing plan as well as an update on the Homeward Bound Cherry Street project.
Other city committee meetings will be in council chambers. They are:
• Council Rules committee — 11 a.m. Thursday.
• Planning Commission — 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
County Commissioners
The three Jefferson County commissioners will hear a resolution to adopt the six-year transportation improvement program when they meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
Commissioners also will be briefed on the five-year homeless housing plan.
Items on the consent agenda include appraisals for the Olympic Discovery Trail from Four Corners Road to Anderson Lake, plus a separate agreement for mental health services for children in the Brinnon School District.
Joint housing panel
The Jefferson County and the city of Port Townsend Joint Oversight Board on Affordable Housing & Homeless Housing will meet at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be in the Cotton Building, 607 Water St., Port Townsend.
Members will consider action on a request for proposal template and request for proposal application as well as alternate membership on the Homeless Housing Task Force.
They will hear updates on the Five-Year Homeless Housing Plan 2019-2024 and take comments from the pubic.
Chimacum schools
The Chimacum School Board will certify the 2019 general fund maintenance and operations levy and capital projects levy for collection in 2020 when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be at Chimacum High School, 91 West Valley Road.
Port of Port Townsend
Port of Port Townsend commissioners will adopt resolutions to formalize the 2020 operating and capital budget when they meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The regular business session will be in chambers, 333 Benedict St.
They will welcome the new commissioner and discuss a new contract with Team Jefferson/Economic Development Council.
Jefferson Healthcare
Jefferson Healthcare commissioners will have a budget hearing on 2020 operations and capital plans when they meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The board will meet in the Victor J. Dirksen Conference Room on the first floor of 834 Sheridan St.
Board of Health
The Jefferson County Board of Health will discuss the environmental health fee schedule when it has a special meeting at 2 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be at the public health building, 615 Sheridan St., Port Townsend.
Peninsula College
Peninsula College trustees will have a study session on equity gaps in student success when they meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
They meeting will be at the Cornaby Center on the Peninsula College Port Angeles campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
The general meeting will begin at 2:30 p.m.
