The Jefferson County Planning Commission will discuss the final Comprehensive Plan vision statement and an update on the housing element when they meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road, Chimacum.
Also meeting this week will be the Civil Service Commission at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the county administrator’s office conference room at the county courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
The three Jefferson County commissioners will not meet this week.
Port Townsend City Council
The Port Townsend City Council will hear a first reading on an ordinance that would extend the maturity date of the city’s limited tax general obligation bond anticipation note when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
The special meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
The council also will hear a communications strategy presentation by Pyramid Communications and host an executive session without the city manager to discuss city manager evaluation.
Council members will go into executive session to review the performance of a public employee before adjourning.
At 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, a quorum of the City Council, Planning Commission and other city advisory boards may be present at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Howard Street extension. The ceremony will take place at the intersection of Rainier Street (formerly Howard Street) and South Park Avenue.
Other city committee meetings, which are in conference rooms at City Hall, 250 Madison St., unless otherwise noted, are:
• Lodging Tax Advisory Committee — 3 p.m. Monday, third-floor conference room. The special meeting will cover 2018 funding requests and 2018 lodging tax fund allocations.
• Port Townsend Arts Commission — 3 p.m. Wednesday, first-floor conference room. The meeting will cover strategic plan discussion and an update on Angel of the Arts.
• Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board — 4:30 p.m. Thursday, first-floor conference room.
• City Council Ad Hoc Committee on Housing — 3:30 p.m. Thursday, second-floor conference room. The committee will hear an update on surplus property, review recommendations of the 2006 City/County Housing Action plan and set a meeting schedule and priorities.
Port Townsend schools
The Port Townsend School Board will consider approving the Service Employees International Union (classified) contract for 2017-20 when it meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
The special meeting will be in Room S-11 at the Gael Stuart Building, 1610 Blaine St.
Port of Port Townsend
Port of Port Townsend commissioners will hear an update to the commission” from Port Executive Director Sam Gibboney when they meet at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The session will be in chambers, 333 Benedict St.
There will be no commission action and no public comment taken at the meeting.
Quilcene School Board
The Quilcene School Board will conduct a special meeting regarding fireside chat at 1 p.m. Thursday.
The board will meet in the Pearl Office at 294715 U.S. Highway 101.
Jefferson Healthcare
Jefferson Healthcare commissioners will consider medical staff credentials/(re)appointments, policy and surplus equipment when they meet at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The board will meet in the Victor J. Dirksen Conference Room on the first floor of 834 Sheridan St., Port Townsend.
East Jefferson Fire-Rescue
East Jefferson Fire-Rescue commissioners will meet in executive session at 7:30 a.m. Friday to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment or to review the performance of public safety personnel.
The special meeting/public hearing will be at Station 1-6, 701 Harrison St., Port Townsend.
There may be a possible offer of employment before the board hears public comment.
Action may or may not be taken.
Sheriff’s citizens advisory
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Citizens Advisory Board will discuss chairperson replacement at 5 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be at the East Jefferson Fire-Rescue Station 1-6, 701 Harrison St., Port Townsend.
Also discussed will be a petition, membership needs including terms and advertising for candidates.
Conservation Futures
Jefferson County Conservation Futures will host a subcommittee meeting at 3 p.m. Tuesday on the next steps for possible long-term monitoring of committee projects.
The meeting will be in the Pacific Room at Jefferson County Public Health, 615 Sheridan St., Port Townsend.
The committee also will consider developing draft guidance on project scope changes and next steps.
