EYE ON JEFFERSON: County commissioners to hear timber revenue report

And other meetings in Jefferson County.

The three Jefferson County commissioners will hear an update on state timber sales and revenue when they meet Monday.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in commissioners’ chambers in the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

Drew Rosanbalm, lands assistant for the state Department of Natural Resources, will provide commissioners with the second-quarter income report.

On the consent agenda is acceptance of a $1 million state Recreation and Conservation Office grant for the Olympic Discovery Trail.

The first phase of work will use $100,000 of the grant to identify a preferred route for the trail from Discovery Bay to the Larry Scott Trail.

Commissioners also will consider consolidation of grants for the Discovery Bay shoreline restoration and trail construction.

Also on the consent agenda is a request for funds from the state Rural Arterial Program for work on Center Road.

Repair of the road between mileposts 14.61 and 15.01 would cost an estimated $710,000. The state program could fund $639,000 of that with a county match of $71,000.

The deadline for the request is Thursday.

Other items on the consent agenda include:

• Amendment of a contract between the Northwest Straits Marine Conservation Foundation and the county for Fort Townsend shoreline restoration, education and outreach.• A $600 contract for nurse consultation services with Olympic Educational Service District 114.
