SEQUIM — Police officers in Sequim have created an exhibit featuring the department’s training programs.
The exhibit is in conjunction with National Police Week this week and is on display through May 29 at the Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St.
The exhibit includes information on the Basic Law Enforcement Academy, the field training officer program, canine training, crisis intervention team training, firearms training, defensive tactics training, the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course, narcotic training, digital forensics training and fingerprint identification training.
According to a press release, National Police Week was created by a proclamation by President John F. Kennedy that designated May 15 as Peace Officer’s Memorial Day and the week that it falls in as National Police Week.
