NEAH BAY — A Neah Bay man was airlifted to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale after his vehicle left state Highway 112 at milepost 10 outside of Neah Bay and hit a stump, the State Patrol said.
Thomas R. Shaw, 59, was traveling westbound at nearly 4 p.m. Friday when he lost control of the Silverado pickup he was driving, the State Patrol said, adding that the pickup ended up in the eastbound lane, blocking it for two hours and 53 minutes.
Shaw’s condition was not available on Sunday.
The single-vehicle wreck was caused by speed to fast for conditions, according to the State Patrol.
Shaw was not wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in the wreck.
The pickup was completely destroyed, troopers said.
