Conservation program board accepting futures applications

PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Conservation Futures Program Advisory Board is accepting first call conservation futures applications.

Under the program, Clallam County will fund the purchase of easements on farmland to preserve open spaces within the county.

Applications must be received at Clallam County Conservation Futures Program Advisory Board, Commissioners Office, 223 E. Fourth St., Suite 4, Port Angeles, Washington 98362 or hand-delivered to 223 E. Fourth St., Room 150, Port Angeles, no later than noon Monday, March 14.

Applications must be in a sealed envelope with “2022 Conservation Futures Applications (1st call)” clearly marked on the outside.

The conservation futures program, governed by county ordinance 958 and RCW 84.34.230, is funded by a special property tax levy.
