Clallam Bay Corrections Center Superintendent Richard “Dick”‘ Morgan has been promoted to superintendent of Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla.
Morgan will take over the post in December, replacing John Lambert, who is retiring.
Morgan began his corrections career in 1976 as a guard at the state penitentiary.
In January 1998, Morgan was promoted to Clallam Bay corrections superintendent after Robert Wright was fired by top state Department of Corrections officials.
Morgan will be the 31st superintendent of the prison since 1887, the year it was established.
A new superintendent has not yet been named.
