SEATTLE — Investigators with the King County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Monday that the late Clallam County Assessor Linda Owings-Rosenburgh committed suicide.
Meanwhile, an official with the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department said the office would not run gunpowder residue tests on the garments worn by Owings-Rosenburgh’s husband, Jim Rosenburgh, and considered the case closed.
Owings-Rosenburgh was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle following a 9-1-1 call early Sunday morning that reported she had shot herself in the head.
Owings-Rosenburgh died at the hospital about 10 hours later. She was 59.
David Delgado, an investigator with the Medical Examiner’s Office, said Thursday that information from its investigation and the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department was used in making the determination.
“If you died within our county, you become our case,” Delgado said.
“But we get information from your sheriff’s department.”
Owings-Rosenburgh’s body was released by the office, but Delgado would not say when, citing its privacy policy.
