PORT ANGELES — Ballot returns for two Feb. 7 school levy elections have reached 35.55 percent in the Sequim School District and almost 21 percent in the Cape Flattery School District as of Friday.
In Sequim, 19,635 ballots have been sent out by both the Clallam and Jefferson county auditors offices because the school district crosses county lines.
As of Friday, a total of 6,981 ballots had been returned — 83 in Jefferson County and 6,898 in Clallam County.
If approved by more than 60 percent of voters who cast ballots, the Sequim replacement levy would increase levy revenue by $200,000 to $2.8 million in 2007 and by about 5 percent annually through 2010.
In Cape Flattery, 218 of 1,043 ballots had been returned as of Friday, according to the Clallam County Auditor’s Office.
In the Cape Flattery School District, the levy proposal would collect $335,000 in levy revenue for four years.
To count, ballots must be returned or postmarked by Feb. 7.
