PORT TOWNSEND — Single dad Randy Manthe of Port Townsend told his children not to expect much for Christmas.
John and Jennifer Galle wondered whether they’ll lose their home and have to move out of Jefferson County.
Leah Golphenee of Port Townsend also worried about losing her home when she’s laid off in late December after working 11 years for the Port Townsend Paper Corp.
They are among the approximately 90 people who received layoff notices Monday when company President John Begley announced that Port Townsend Paper will shut down its unprofitable bag-plant operation Dec. 27.
