PORT ANGELES — The deadline is Sept. 10 to submit art for the second annual Arts & Draughts Beer & Wine Festival, set Sept. 23-25.
As part of the festival hosted by the Port Angeles Downtown Association, a gallery exhibition is planned in the basement of the former Bank of America building on the corner of Front and Laurel streets.
The festival also will showcase local and regional artists and craftsmen in a vendor row on Laurel Street, with beers and wines of the area in a beer garden.
Artists are asked to submit up to five original pieces to be displayed in the art gallery, which will be open during the regular hours of the festival from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25. A $5 hanging fee will be charged for each piece of art submitted to be shown.
An opening night reception is planned from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23.
Organizers hope to receive a diverse mix of art that includes paintings, photography, sculptures of all kinds, fiber arts, poetry, driftwood, pottery and jewelry.
To submit work, take it to Brocante Antiques at 105 W. First St. and check it in with Beau Damon Richards, store owner and Arts & Draughts gallery curator.
