When the 44-year-old actress showed up to the red carpet premiere of her new mini-series, The Slap, on Monday looking incredibly fresh-faced, rumours started swirling that she’d gone under the knife.
While her new look isn’t as dramatic as Renee Zellweger’s shock transformation in October last year, Uma’s make-up artist gave People the inside scoop on her more youthful appearance, and it comes down to one simple beauty trick – she’s not wearing mascara.
In creating Uma’s “effortless Parisienne chic” look, Troy Surratt ditched the mascara, opting to leave the star’s eyelashes bare. He’s a bonafide genius, because it’s taken years off her face!
So how do you go about recreating her show-stopping look? It’s all about bold lips and brows, and barely-there eye make-up, “The face is sectioned into three equal parts, lending a visual balance and allowing the mouth to be the star of the face,” said Surratt.
