The Taylor Swift-Approved Skin Prep Behind Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s Logies Look

Whether she’s gracing our screens on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Outta Here or strutting the red carpet, Kerri-Anne Kennerley is doing it with poise and grace. We already know Kerri-Anne is a fellow makeup obsessee. So it’s truly no surprise that her 2023 Logies glam was nothing short of stunning.

We got the full glam breakdown from Kak’s makeup artist, Melanie Irene. And it turns out Kak has more in common with Taylor Swift (or at least her skin care routine) than we first thought…

Here, the secret weapon(s) behind Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s Logies glow.

Melanie channeled the ‘your skin but better’ memo, starting with a three-step skin prep routiine. “Kerri-Anne has such beautiful skin! We wanted to achieve a soft glam look,” says Melanie.

The first step to flawless, glowing skin? Pat McGrath’s Divine Skin: Rose 001 The Essence ($139 at Sephora). This K-beauty-inspired skin essence has quickly garnered a cult celeb following, and even features in Taylor Swift’s own pre-stage skin care routine. And hey, if it’s going to help give us Tay’s effortless radiance, we’ll happily splurge…

To lock in all that hydration, Melanie then applied Tatcha’s Dewy Skin Cream ($112 at MECCA) and prepped the under-eye area using the M.A.C Fast Response Eye Cream ($68 at David Jones). “I always prep using this eye ceam,” Melanie explains. “There is caffeine in it so it instantly de-puffs the eye.”

Next up: perfecting the base. Melanie opted for the NARS Radiant Longwear Foundation ($80 at MECCA), hiding any blemishes and touching up any dark spots with the Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer ($58 at MECCA). Kerri-Anne’s effortless rosy flush is all thanks to the TikTok-approved Patrick Ta Major Headlines Double-Take Creme & Powder Blush in ‘She’s That Girl’ ($60 at Sephora). Melanie then powdered Kak’s complexion to perfection using both the Huda Beauty Loose Powder in ‘Poundcake’ ($52 at Adore Beauty) and the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder ($70 at Charlotte Tilbury). We’ve heard of mascara cocktailing, but powder cocktailing? Need to try ASAP!

As for the eyes? “Kerri-Anne wanted a matte smokey eye so I used the Makeup By Mario Master Mattes Eyeshadow Palette ($83 at Sephora),” Melanie says. To amp up the look, she then created a custom fan lash look using the MODELROCK Individual Artistry Lashes in 10mm, 12mm and 14mm ($18 at MODELROCK Lashes) on the outer corners.

If you’ve been eyeing off Kak’s glossy pout (us too), you’re in luck! Melanie used the M.A.C Cosmetics Lip Pencil in ‘Soar’ ($37 at Adore Beauty) to line the lips, then finished off the look with Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb in ‘Fussy’ ($36 at Sephora).
