But here’s the great news: whichever one you choose, red nail polish is an aesthetic that’ll truly never go out of style. It’s as chic and reliable as our beloved French mani, just a touch more fun. And while we love an on-trend nail art moment from time to time, the classics are classics for good reason.

As for which option is the best red nail polish for you, allow us to guide you through an edit of some of our absolute favourites…

Best red nail polishes

Best Celeb Red

CND Shellac in ‘Devil Red’

We Say: While her nails might not have been what we were focusing on, we’ve found the Rihanna approved Superbowl shade.

Just be aware that this long-wearing shellac does require a LED light for curing (read, setting), the polish. But once set (and it’s quick), you’ll be free from chipping and smudging for weeks of wear.

  1. I own that Kester Black shade & although it leans warm against my cool skin tone (it’s more tomato red than cherry red), I still like it. Won’t be painting my nails red any time soon, but it’s a nice shade to have in your polish arsenal.
