Happy Little Rimmel Family

If you keep up with Priceline you would have heard about their many sales in store & online, and one of them being Rimmel at half price off across the entire range. Having a $50 gift card certainly helped convince me to make some purchases so off I went to my local store and picked up a few things, and by that I mean 7 items in total! This time around I took some time to really see what was on offer and what was worth buying, one being the Wake Me Up Foundation. My basket also included three Eye Shadows, one Mascara and one of the new Apocalips Lip Lacquers.

First off, the foundation. From reading the description it seems to make your complexion brighter and give a more natural look. I have mine in the shade 100 Ivory which was difficult to colour match but I tested a small amount against the Revlon Colourstay shade 200 Nude which I also use and the 100 Ivory was the best match against the Revlon one. One other great benefit of this foundation is that it has SPF 15 added to the formula so it would make as a great overall foundation for Summer or days where you’re out having some fun in the sun!

Even though we (Australia) are in the middle of winter it doesn’t mean we can’t have a pop of colour in our makeup routine, so these shades are the way to go for a bright eye look! The shades that I purchased are Punchy Taupe, Plum Romance and Pink Crush. All colours are shimmery and slightly pigmented so they are quite buildable or wearable on top of each other. They all complement each other well so it can be a good alternative for a neutral or black smoky eye look.

First off I am not a big fan of Mascara, but since this was on sale I decided to test it out, and who knows I could be running out to buy more soon! This new product with Lycra built in to the formula will make your lashes soft and weightless so it won’t weigh down on your eyelids (one reason why I don’t use mascara often.) As it also doesn’t leave clumps on the lashes is another incentive and it definitely convinced me to buy it.  At $8.47 it is a steal as are all Rimmel Mascara’s Verdict: I’m sold!

Lucky last, the new Apocalips Lip Lacquers.  There are 8 colours in the range but for now I only picked up one which is 501 Stellar a hot pink colour that is very pigmented, so don’t be discouraged by how bright it is. The same goes for the other colours but don’t fret if you only apply a small amount to your lips it will go a long way. It doesn’t seem sheer so it is a great alternative for lipstick and at $7.97 each it can do no wrong!
