The sights and sounds of the season come alive on the Field Arts Events Hall stage

Music and magic highlight the holiday performances in Port Angeles

From magic and music to dynamic dance and holiday favorites, audiences have a packed calendar of performances to enjoy at the Field Arts & Events Hall in Port Angeles this December.

And for those checking off their Christmas lists, the gift of an unforgettable experience is always the right size, whether it’s tucked into a stocking or wrapped up under the tree!

Here’s a look at what coming up:

Dec. 1 and 2 – Port Angeles City Ballet’s The Nutcracker. Set to Tchaikovsky’s traditional score, the heartwarming story is presented by Juan de Fuca Foundation for the Arts, with special guests from Pacific Northwest Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre & Bayerisches Staatsballett. This locally crafted adaptation of the beloved classic brings together more than 100 Peninsula ballet artists and guest stars in a holiday show for all ages. Tickets, sold through jffa.org for this show, are $20 to $50 for adults, $15 for students 18 to 21 with ID, $10 for youth 17 and younger.

Dec. 9 – The Queen’s Cartoonists Holiday Hurrah: Yule Love It! Join the Queen’s Cartoonists on a hilarious holiday adventure as they explore the best (and worst) holiday-related cartoons, films and jazz in this delightful experience for the whole family. Tickets $15 are $60.

Dec. 10 – VITALY “An Evening of Wonders.” Prepare to be amazed by master illusionist Vitaly Beckman, known for stumping Penn & Teller on their hit TV show Fool Us. Combining breathtaking visuals with a captivating style, this interactive theatrical experience features original illusions that touch on themes of love, loss and the wonder of life in an awe-inspiring show that’s perfect for all ages. Tickets are $15 to $60.

Dec. 16 – “Linus & Juicy” The Jose Gonzales Trio performs Vince Guaraldi’s A Charlie Brown Christmas. Rooted in jazz and filled with blues and funk, this holiday hit offers a dynamic experience that’s been delighting audiences for 11 years. Tickets are $15 to $60 for adults, and $10 for children 12 and younger and students up to 21 with ID.

Dec. 17 – Sequim City Band Holiday Concert. Join the North Olympic Peninsula’s community concert band for its Sounds of the Season holiday concert, featuring a medley of Alan Silvestri’s songs from the hit movie The Polar Express, Irving Berlin’s Happy Holiday / White Christmas, the brilliant brass choir sounds of the modern adaptation of the 16th century Carol of the Little Russian Children and many more holiday favorites. Tickets are free, but donations graciously accepted.

Dec. 21– Geoffrey Castle’s Celtic Christmas. This grand production features the showmanship and fiery fiddle of the electric violin maestro, complemented by the Seattle Irish Dance Company, All-Star Celtic Night Band, Irish Tenor and guitarist Dan Connolly, plus the captivating voices of Emily McIntosh, Pamela Casella and Veronica Nim Olson. And what’s Christmas without a visit from Santa Claus? Experience the magic of Christmas! Tickets are $40 to $60.

Find tickets and details for all the holiday shows at fieldhallevents.org/tickets or through the Field Hall Box Office at 360-477-4679 x 1, or visit Field Hall at 201 W Front St., Port Angeles from noon to 4 p.m., Wednesday to Friday and one hour before performance start times.

Visit the Field Hall Café from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday. In the Field Hall Gallery, Impressions, a celebration of local printmakers, is on display through Feb 4. The Gallery is open Fridays 12 to 4 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and by appointment. Email gallery@fieldhallevents.org to arrange a private group tour.
