Local talents and global stars to shine this season at Field Hall

Port Angeles arts event center unveils Winter/Spring 2025 program

Field Arts & Events Hall’s Winter/Spring 2025 season promises a dynamic lineup of performances, from Grammy-winning ensembles to beloved local artists.

“This season is about growth, change and exploring new perspectives,” says Steven Raider-Ginsburg, Executive and Artistic Director. “We’ve listened to feedback from our first year and are bringing more of what Peninsula residents want, delivering experiences that resonate deeply with our community.”

The season kicks off on Jan. 10 with a nostalgic all-ages dance party in the Sunset Lounge featuring the Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense. Guests are encouraged to embrace the 1980s spirit with themed attire and dance moves.

The fun continues later in January with Grammy-winning composer Antonio Sánchez performing his live drum score for the Oscar-winning film Birdman on Jan. 24, followed by a night of comedy with NPR favorite Paula Poundstone Jan. 25.

Field Hall is also improving its accessibility this season by extending youth pricing to all audience members under 18. “This change reflects our commitment to making arts and culture accessible to families and young people,” says Kaylay Oakes, Director of Education & Artistic Engagement.

Highlights include a diverse range of performances, from the family-friendly magic of Chris Funk on Feb. 14 to the flamenco artistry of Noche Flamenca on March 2. Music enthusiasts can enjoy the internationally acclaimed Silkroad Ensemble on May 17, while dance lovers will have the chance to see two performances by the American Ballet Theatre Studio Company on March 7 and 8.

“We’re thrilled to feature local stars alongside globally renowned artists,” Oakes says. On April 5, Kim Trenerry and Jason Mogi debut their innovative show, This is NOT Deadwood Revival. Later in the month, Bread and Gravy present A History of Time: Through Music, an ambitious production blending music, dance and poetry to explore the human experience. Sequim-based Jennifer Thomas will close the local artist lineup on May 10 with selections from her album Oceans.

The season also continues audience favorites, including Free Jazz Sundays and the “Strait Country” music series. On March 13, country music star Ty Herndon brings his chart-topping hits to the stage.

Reckless Son with Matt Butler on April 20 brings music and spoken word inspired by Butler’s work in over 100 prisons. “This show exemplifies the power of art to foster empathy and understanding,” Raider-Ginsburg says. “It is a powerful show that I truly hope people don’t miss.”
