Field Hall opened in July 2023, and has since presented over 90 public events, hosted dozens of private parties, meetings, and gatherings.

Programming has included internationally celebrated artists like Noche Flamenca and the upcoming Compagnie Hervé Koubi on May 7, as well as local artists like Amanda Lynn Bacon, Deadwood Revival, and FarmStrong.

It has also hosted movie screenings, a humanities lecture series called First Fed Community Conversations, art gallery receptions and workshops, comedy, fine dining events, and even yoga in the upstairs Sunset Lounge.

Field Hall has invested in several educational initiatives. The Peninsula Performs! program is a grant and donor funded arts education initiative which brings professional teaching artists into local classrooms at no cost to the schools.

This curriculum-based arts integration approach uses music, dance, theater, and visual arts to find new entry points into learning and aligns with both Common Core State Standards and National Core Arts Standards.

“Our mission is to expand the reach of arts education. By working directly with the Port Angeles School District, we’re creating accessible avenues for students to engage with the arts,” says Kayla Oakes, Director of Education & Artistic Engagement.

Field Hall also partnered with Stephens Middle School to present hands-on arts experiences to students after their classes.

Beyond traditional arts education, Field Hall has launched a Media Lab program in collaboration with Peninsula College. This program equips students with the skills needed for behind-the-scenes roles in event production, theater, and film, addressing a critical gap in local arts and technical education.

“We’re building a network of professionals with Media Lab who can support, creating an arts community right here in Port Angeles,” shares Kendall Mahoney, Technical Director and an adjunct professor at Peninsula College.

During the year-long certificate program, students take courses through Peninsula College and have access to the media lab at the Donna M. Morris Theater.

“There’s only so many people educated in this trade. There’s a real need for it in our community,” Mahoney says

How to get involved

  • Prospective Peninsula College students can register for the Media Lab program to gain experience in arts and media production.
  • Educators can connect with the Peninsula Performs! initiative to bring arts integration into their classrooms.

Individuals, families, and businesses can support arts education and access through Field Hall by donating to supplement the cost of student tickets or in support of Peninsula Performs!

Interested donors are also invited to attend Field Hall’s inaugural fundraising gala on May 18, featuring award-winning pianist and Sequim resident Jennifer Thomas. The event will include a dinner in the Sunset Lounge and exclusive first look at what’s to come at Field Hall.

“We really can’t thank our community enough for their support.” Oakes says.

For more information or to get involved, visit Field Hall’s website or contact their offices directly at info@fieldhallevents.org.
