Sequim Dog Park party set for Saturday

SEQUIM — The Sequim Dog Park will celebrate its 11th birthday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the park within Carrie Blake Community Park off of Blake Avenue.

The event will include raffles with items for pets and their owners, treats for the dogs and cupcakes for their humans.

Also featured will be a demonstration by Sequim Police Detective Paul Dailidenas and K-9 Officer Mamba at 11 a.m., and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Dream Catcher Hot Air Balloons will have a balloon house for the children.

Presented by KSQM and Pet Lovers, the event hosts DJ Golden Mike spinning tunes in-between the action, with refreshments from Shipley Center Café, dog freestyle dancing, 4-H presentations and llamas.

On hand will be representatives of Olympic Peninsula Humane Society, Welfare for Animals Guild, Peninsula Friends of Animals, Pet Posse, Precious Life Animal Sanctuary, Rescue Every Dog and Grey Hound Pets Inc., as well as other pet-friendly local businesses.
