Port Angeles: Here’s your Arts in Action schedule

PORT ANGELES — The key word in this weekend’s Arts in Action is ACTION.

This is not the sort of festival for sitting. The variety of the event is a winner as well.

The sixth annual Cruise In with the Old Timers Club and the Dream Machine Club will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the Ruddell Auto Mall. The show is being dedication in the memory of Mac Ruddell.

Admission is free with a donation for the Port Angeles Food Bank. Way Back Machine Band will play music at 7 p.m. and refreshments will be available.

The Peninsula Dream Machines will sponsor the club’s fourth annual Arts in Action Car Show on Sunday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is from 10 a.m. to noon with awards at 3 p.m. Anyone is welcome to enter a car. Bring vehicles to Front Street. For more information, call Dee Groves at 360-452-8907.

The Nor’wester Rotary Club is sponsoring the annual Arts in Action festival at which sand sculptor Charlie Beaulieu, who already has six world records to his name, will try to construct the tallest ever sand sculpture. The current record is 28 feet, 7 inches.

Laurel Street, between First and Railroad streets, will be blocked off Saturday and Sunday. Vendors will offer art, crafts and food and live entertainment will be provided both days.
