The DAISY Foundation has recognized Casey Peterson with its DAISY award.

Peterson is a nurse in Olympic Medical Center’s medical/surgical unit.

The award recognizes extraordinary, compassionate care provided to patients and families.

The foundation, which takes its name from the acronym Diseases Attacking the Immune System, was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died in 1999 from complications of the auto-immune disease idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.
