It’s Fuca time!

Eclectic, electric and sometimes eccentric, the Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts opens its 2006 run in Port Angeles today.

Music, dance theater, storytelling, street vendors, films and children’s performances will center around the Vern Burton Center, 308 E. Fourth Street.

Other performance venues are the Elks Naval Lodge, 131 E. First St.; Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.; and the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

A special magazine section detailing artists, locations and other aspects of the Juan de Fuca Festival appeared in the PDN last Sunday and will be available this weekend at the Vern Burton festival headquarters, where tickets are sold.

Daily admission to festival events is $12 for Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts members, students and senior citizens, and $13 general admission. Children 12 and younger are free.

Multi-day passes are also available.

For more information, visit the festival Web site at www.jffa.org or call 360-457-5411.
