Hikes, free soup program planned for New Year’s Day

Hikes and a free soup program are among the upcoming activities on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Soup’s on

SEQUIM — Soup’s On is set for noon Wednesday.

The free program at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., is open to the community.

The meal includes a bowl of meat or vegetarian soup, a roll, salad and a small dessert.

PORT ANGELES

New Year’s yoga

PORT ANGELES — Poser YOGA will offer a free Manifestation Flow yoga class at its studio in Port Angeles and at its Sequim studio.

The class is from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Jan. 1, at both locations.

The Port Angeles studio is at 502 W. Eighth St., and the Sequim studio is at 145 E. Washington St.

Birding hike

PORT HADLOCK — Paula Vanderheul will lead a New Year’s Day birding hike from 9:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday.

Participants should meet in the parking lot at Irondale Beach, 301 First Ave.

The public is welcome on this free field trip sponsored by the Admiralty Audubon Society.

This is the Admiralty Audubon Society’s sixth annual New Year’s Day walk.

PORT TOWNSEND

Teddy Bear Hike

PORT TOWNSEND — Fred Weinmann will lead the 16th Teddy Bear Hike in Cappy’s Woods at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Hikers should meet at the intersection of Willamette and east Sapphire streets.

The hike will be from 1-3 miles, depending upon the weather, and is planned to last for one to two hours.

Teddy bears are welcome, but not required.
