A new farmers market opens Sunday in Chimacum, expanding the choices for those on the North Olympic Peninsula who want home-grown food.
The Chimacum Farmers’ Market will be at the Chimacum Grange at 9572 Rhody Drive, which is across from the main Chimacum School campus at the intersection of state Highway 19 and West Valley Road.
It will offer local produce and goods from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Sunday through Oct. 12.
To participate, growers must join the Grange — annual dues are $35 — plus pay $10 each Sunday they sell.
The Chimacum Grange also plans to have ready-to-eat food for sale and musical entertainment.
If any food is left over, growers will be encouraged to donate to the food bank across the street.
