Burkett is the founder of Usawa Consulting in Port Townsend.

Her firm provides anti-racist education and training to build safe, respectful communities through consulting and workshops.

She has worked with Black Lives Matter of Jefferson County as well as other local groups.

The association is celebrating 75 years in Port Townsend by recognizing women of color, or women of the global majority, who live and work here and add to our rich community culture.
