As a former superintendent of the Port Angeles School District, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of strong, dedicated leadership.
That’s why I wholeheartedly support Sarah Methner and Mary Hebert for reelection to the school board.
Both Sarah and Mary have consistently put students at the center of their decisions. They led the way in reopening schools during the COVID-19 closure, ahead of nearly every district in Washington state, ensuring students didn’t fall behind.
Their commitment to education is evident in their support for a robust vocational program, the largest in our region, and innovative initiatives like Seaview Academy and Transitional Kindergarten.
They’ve also shown strong leadership in securing community support for more than $250 million in capital investments at Stevens Middle School, Port Angeles High School and Franklin Elementary.
This is a vital investment in our schools and future generations, all while maintaining a clear, consistent tax rate, which is a key consideration for our community.
If you care about our students, schools and maintaining a balance between educational progress and local taxes, I urge you to vote for Sarah Methner and Mary Hebert.
Their leadership has been transformative, and they are the right choice to continue moving our district forward.
