I vote Democrat in most elections.
I support the ACLU and its commitment to the U.S. Bill of Rights.
I believe immigrants contribute positively to the growth and inventiveness of the United States.
I do believe the government has an obligation to provide aide to the poorest among us.
I accept that climate change is largely caused by human activity.
I wish we had a single-payer health care system instead of one controlled by for-profit insurance companies.
I support rational policies of gun control.
I do not accept the concept that white skin makes one person better than another.
I think efforts to encourage the diversification of our population makes us a more vibrant society.
I do think it makes common sense for the economy to have rules that apply to all, and I do not support unfettered, free-for-all capitalism that allows scammers, cheats and tax evaders to win.
For these and many other beliefs I hold, I am labeled by Trump and his supporters a “radical left-wing evil person.”
Trump and his supporters have called all of us who have ideals and beliefs to the left of his right-wing authoritarianism as “evil, vermin, soulless” individuals who “hate their country.”
He is wrong. I am not evil. I am not vermin. And I am not soulless.
And I love this country and its amazing potential to be a bright beacon in the world.
I do hate that our current president is dimming our light.
