LETTER: Don’t feed wildlife

Stop feeding wildlife.

Seriously, just stop.

It might feel cute or kind, but you’re doing far more harm than good.

Wild animals aren’t your pets. They are meant to find food on their own.

When you feed them, you make them dependent, mess with their natural diet and increase their risk of disease and death.

Not to mention, it teaches them to lose their fear of humans, which leads to dangerous encounters, for them and you.

So if you truly care about wildlife, respect them enough to leave them wild.
