LETTER: Doe shot

An open letter to the person who shot a doe on lower Dan Kelly Road on July 21.

The doe that you shot with a .22 died on my property. She made it as far as my flower bed.

She was fly-blown and bloated when I found her; the meat is lost.

She was fairly young, so any offspring she would have had are lost as well.

Her fawn is still on my property, looking for her.

If you shot her because you were really that hard up for meat, there are food pantries in town.

If you shot her just to watch her die, you missed out. And you need help.

The game warden has the bullet and would like a word.
