LETTER: Community outpouring of help leads to reunion with missing dogs

Last Friday evening [March 10], our two chocolate Labs, Olivia and Mo, decided to run away together.

They are not street-smart or even smart when they are together.

We posted a missing pet comment on the PAWA (Port Angeles, Wa.) group Facebook page and contacted Judy, who is our neighborhood hero, and the Pet Posse, desperate for any information or possible dog sightings from anyone.

To make a long story short, Olivia and Mo, who live on top of Mount Pleasant, were found on the very top of Blue Mountain Road.

Our weekend of desperation and heartache ended with us picking up our dogs from a wonderful stranger on top of Blue Mountain Road.

This situation probably doesn’t seem like a big deal to most people.

However, the outpouring of support, love, prayers and encouragement that we received from people in our community told us that they cared, too, and they wanted to help us.

Without the help we received from all of these amazing people, we would not have found Olivia and Mo.

We appreciated every person who helped us.

With prayers, support, wonderful neighbors and a great community, I learned that we can do just about anything if we work together.

Pay it forward. We sure will.

Ken and Kari Fisher,

Port Angeles
