If Kate Middleton weren’t already a royal, we’re fairly certain she’d hold a title along the lines of ‘Princess of Cascading Curls’ regardless. Her hair is simply that good.

She knows which haircare range works for her, she figured out her perfect part long ago, and her curls are always expertly coiffed and yet beautifully brushed out. We’d be jealous if we weren’t too busy being impressed.

And yet when your royal duties include being out and about in the English weather, keeping a beautiful blowout fresh isn’t always possible…

In an all-too-relatable twist, however, the Princess of Wales proved that even royals get rained on. When a downpour transformed her signature style into something looser, beachier and more undone, she took it in (rather chic) stride.

Does she not look like the most sophisticated royal mermaid you’ve ever seen?!

Princess Kate and her team kept their umbrellas up for the rest of the visit. Of course, when weather decides to wreak havoc with one’s hair, there’s only so much a good brolly can do.

It’s worth noting though that the ‘havoc’ wreaked by the rain happened to result in what may be our favourite look on her yet.

Offering a glimpse at a hybrid between her usual classic blowout and her wavier natural texture, the forecast may have been a surprise, but Kate Middleton having a good hair day even in the pouring rain is the opposite of a shock.

We hope she embraces a beachier look again soon! It’s stunning on her.
