The last couple of years have given us a serious lesson in how to maintain our hair colour at home. With hairdressers on hiatus for a while, we turned to every supermarket hair dye recommendation and home root-touch up tutorial known to man.

However, as we eased into what was the ‘new normal’, we did start to embrace the ‘quarantine chic’ look; finding the ultimate balance between polished-to-perfection and total-slob that hasn’t left the house in a decade.
As a result, visible regrowth is undergoing a re-brand. What was once seen as unkept style or hair appointment that was well overdue, is now oozing a sense of relaxed cool. Because let’s face it, looking immaculately groomed just isn’t always achievable, so why not make the most of what we’ve got?
Wispy Top Knot

You know that effortless look… the one where you pull all your hair up on the crown of the head to keep it out of your eyes? Yes, that one.
With a few wispy pieces falling down the front and side of the head, this is the cutest (and easiest) lived-in look for your roots.
Sleek Middle Part

Think low-bun or low-pony, but either way make it sleek and chic.
Use your middle part as a statement line down the centre of your head, and don’t be shy with the product and gel to really tame those fly aways.
The ‘Organised Chaos’ Look

Create texturised pieces for a fresh just-out-of-bed, windswept look as you flick hair into different directions.
This is great one for shorter hair, dry shampoo and A LOT of tousling.
Face-Framing Tendrils

Rock this 90’s look by pulling the hair back into a tight high bun, leaving two tendrils out in front of the face.
Your roots will add incredible depth and dimension to this throwback style.
Deep Side Part

Flip your hair over to one side and rock the deep, side part.
Blow Out With Hair Clips

Use some cute clips to accentuate your middle part line, but this time keeping the hair nicely blown out.
This style makes your roots the star of the show, as though they’re meant to be there. Clever.

Are you embracing your roots? What are your go-to hairstyles?
It took me a very long time to grow out permanent hair colour the hardest part is allowing yourself to grow it out without resorting to Colouring it all over again.
Some great ideas for hair styles to make it that much more bearable.
The hair clip look is so cute and the throw back style I think never went out of fashion.
Love the blowout with hair clips one.
wow these images actually make the regrowth look so.. nice? I'm amazed!
With re-growth worst: mid parting. Best side parting, messy and full of body. Ya
The wispy top knot is really cute!
Cute hairstyles
Think I'd rather just get my regrowth done.
My fav is the Blow Out with hair clips. I would do that if I was bottle blonde. Been there done that. Too much maintenance.
I like the wispy top knot. I often wear my hair like this.
J-Lo doesn't seem to age. Wonder how she does it. She looks amazing.
My regrowth has a lot of grey, so I prefer to cover it up. I like coloured sprays or a headband.
It is what it is. I just 100% embrace it. I think so many of us have regrowth now that people no longer give you looks. It is just accepted.
My regrowth is all grey and its frustrating , Ive considered growing it out but I'm not ready for all grey yet.
I find that sprays or powders help disguise and I bought a lot of different ones through lockdown.
Me too, I don't want to accentuate my regrowth which some of these styles do, just want to cover it up.
I’ve been lucky to have been able to keep my natural hair colour so far.
Please I need an article on best hairstyles with GREY regrowth
I don't know if it's much different for grey, you just have a different contrast.
I think any style is okay for visible regrowth.
Great styles
How did the sprays work? Did they work well?
I feel like it will look very different to these celebrities.
That's a good one!!!!
So regrowth is now on purpose??
A deep side part always works!
I wish my regrowth looked liked Behati’s in the last pic. I have about an inch and a half of obvious regrowth at the moment. Some great tips. I’ve been trying to disguise with uneven parts.
Me too, especially very dark brown hair and grey regrowth
I like to put my hair up in a high pony tail
The top knot is my fave hairstyle for everything.
Oh gosh, visible regrowth is bad for people with greys like me!
The wispy topknot looks a little bit like an octopus and my hair naturally goes wispy like this if I wear my hair up but I feel like it looks a bit messy and bad on me.
I have the grey regrowth as well but luckily it blends into the highlights and doesn't really show.
I like to have highlights in my hair and that helps
They all looks beautiful.
Great this will save us all some money !
Would be nice to see a celebrity rocking grey regrowth, I’m sure some are. I let my greys grow out until it was time to go back to work then coloured it at home. I needed a longer lockdown!
Some really awesome looks!!!
Luckily a middle part covers a bit of grey I have.
Organized Chaos
It's so easy for blondes to make it look chic, even if the blond is growing out! As a brunette with red dyed hair… good lucky making cool toned brunette regrowth look good on bright red hair LOL.
i like the hair clips too
Wispy Top Knot for the win! Like this one the most 🙂
Honestly can never go wrong with a sleek middle part low bun because of how classy it looks and just goes with everything
Some cute styles
I like the deep side part look and the organised chaos look.. My best tips for regrowth….wear a hat.
Hairstyles all look nice but just seeing regrowth does not appeal to me in any hair style.
My regrowth is usually sorted by doing a Centre part
I don't like regrowth, my hair is dark blonde with highlights, so hopefully the regrowth is not too obvious.
I love top knots; no matter what coloured hair someone has.
I love the "Organised Chaos".
